Dance Classes
2016-17 Enrollment is now closed. Please check back in April for summer registration.  
The 2016-2017 Dance year runs August 2016 thought May 2017.
The school accepts students during the year at the discretion of Ms. Becky with consideration on previous dance experience. New classes may be added during the year and are open to all students when they begin. Please call the school for additional information and leave a message. Preschool Division (ages 2½ to 5) 
Ballet and Tap: 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap per week.
Hip Hop : 45 minutes of Hip Hop per week

School Division (ages 6 and over)
Ballet and Tap: 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap per week
Ballet and Jazz: 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of jazz per week
Ballet Tap and Jazz: 30 minutes of ballet, 30 minutes of tap and 30 minutes of jazz per week
Hip Hop: 45 minutes of hip-hop per week
Gymnastics: 45 minutes of gymnastics per week
Break-dancing: 30 minutes of break-dancing per week.


There is a registration fee of $25 for students and $15 for each additional sibling. The registration fee and first month tuition is due at time of registration. Pricing is not pro-rated for holidays or shorter months.  Missed classes may be made up at no additional cost. Class length is determined by the teaching schedule.

Dance Attire 
The dress code for classes at the Becky Jones School of Dance is a leotard and tights of any color.

*Preschool Division(ages 2½ to 6) : Pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, leotard and tights of any color

*School Division(ages 6 and over): Pink ballet shoes, tan tie tap shoes, leotard and tights of any color

*Gymnastics: Leotard in any color

*Hip Hop and Break-dancing: Tennis shoes, comfortable clothing

*Jazz: Tan jazz shoes, leotard and tights of any color

*All students should have their hair pulled back from her face.
 ***Please label all shoes and bags.***

General Policies

Holidays: Becky Jones School of Dance will be closed for,
  •  Monday, September 5, 2016: Labor Day
  •  Monday, November 21, 2016 – Sunday, November 27, 2017: Thanksgiving Break
  •  Monday, December 19, 2016 – Sunday, January 3, 2017: Winter Break
  •  Monday, April 3, 2017 – Sunday, April 9, 2017: Spring Break (Class starting back on Mon. Apr.10)
  •  Monday, May 29, 2017: Memorial Day
*All other school days, including teacher workdays or other school holidays, will have regular class schedule

Visiting Days: Parents and friends are invited to visit a class during December. Detailed information will follow as to the exact day.  Speak with your child’s instructor about visiting during other times.

Withdrawal PolicyIf a child does not wish to continue in a class, please speak with Ms. Becky for the account to be inactivated. You will be held responsible for monthly payments regardless of the number of absences until you have officially withdrawn your child.

Make-up Classes: We encourage our students to attend regularly to make sure they continue to learn, improve and rehearse with their class members. However, sometimes students must miss a class. Although a refund cannot be given for these absences or missed classes, we will be happy to schedule a make-up class, if available. Please call the office to find out when make-up times are available.  

Inclement Weather: During times of severe weather, such as snow or tornadoes, BJSD emphasizes that safety is our top priority. We encourage everyone to use his or her best judgment in deciding to travel to the studio during severe weather. 

Picture Days: Professional individual and group pictures are taken during BJSD Picture Days.  Schedules will be distributed in February.  Please note Picture Days occur on weekends.

Tuition: Payment is due the first lesson of the month. It is considered late after the 10th. 
Tuition is due for every month between August (or your starting month) and May regardless of classes missed or holidays. Since your monthly tuition is based on a yearly tuition, you are NOT paying for the same number of classes each month so months with less classes (like December) are offset by months with more classes. In other words, you are responsible for paying  for each month whether you come or not.

Other Payment Information Statements and bills will only be sent to past due accounts.
Payments can be made by check or in cash. For payments made by checks, dancer’s first and last name must be on ALL checks.  For payments made in cash, be sure to get a receipt! This is your proof of payment! Please keep your receipts.
Please be aware that if your account balance becomes delinquent by more than two months, you will need to speak directly with Ms. Becky so your child to be able to continue taking classes.

Spring Performance (Recital)

Each year BJSD presents three or more productions at Cobb Civic Center in June. (typically the weekend after Memorial Day) Students have the opportunity to showcase all their hard work and training through these performances. Each class will perform in at least one performance. As with any production, many hours of hard work by the dancers, teachers and the director go into making this a wonderful finale to the year.  In addition to the hard work, many expenses are required for such a grand production. These expenses include theater rental, technical crew, props, additional staff, ticket printing, performance programs and more. Finally, dancers further enjoy the fun production with a special costume just for their routines. 

Students electing to participate in the Spring Performance will be required to pay a performance fee. This fee includes costume,  ribbons, trophy, five tickets for a performance (per child) and a DVD of the performance. A schedule of the fee is shown below:

This will be divided in to three payments of $60.00 (boys $40) (additional dances add $20 for each dance)(additional Student add $50)
The First performance fee payment is due on October 15, 2016. 
The Second performance fee payment is due on January 15, 2017
The Third performance fee payment due March 15, 2017

Please write a separate check for any performance fee payments and label it performance fee payment also include child first and last name. 
If you pay in cash, make sure you get a receipt and the receipt shows “Performance Fee Payment” on it.

For students enrolling after October 15, 2016, first payment due at the time of registration. For students enrolling after January 15, 2017, two payments due at the time of registration. (Registration fee and first month’s tuition will be due at this time too). 

No costumes will be given out to any student until performance fee has been paid in full and account is up to date.
