Owner and Artistic Director:
Ms. Becky has been teaching dance classes for over forty years. She is an Atlanta native who has been dancing since the age of six. Becky trained under Jack Epply and performed recitals with orchestration in the old Roxy Theater where Peachtree Plaza now stands. Her studio has received many top awards at various regional competitions. Her company has performed at Disney World many times as well as on several cruise ships, and many local festivals. Although Becky excelled in several dance styles, tap is her forte.
Julie began dancing at the age of four, and she has fond memories of her teacher. Kip Watson, banging the floor with his cane to keep time with the live piano music.
Julie's dance education focused on ballet,pointe,tap and jazz. She was a member of the Dolores Werner Dance Company through her teens. While there,she competed at Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America in addition to attending numerous dance conventions.
She connects as a teacher with all ages, including adults. She has been with Becky Jones for over 10 years.
Elizabeth has studied all forms of dance with a forte in ballet. She grew up dancing at BJSD and has been a teacher or student for the past 25 years. She was in the BJSD Performance Company until she graduated from high school. Elizabeth teaches tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and lyrical.
In the summers,Elizabeth is Director of the Princess Camps.
Elizabeth is currently a high school science teacher.
Performance Company Director:
Amelia started dancing at Becky Jones School of Dance when she was two and a half years old.
She danced with Mrs. Becky for sixteen years and was in company for fourteen years. Amelia is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, musical theater, contemporary, and lyrical. In 2012, she received scholarships and recognition from various conventions including A.S.H., iHollywood, and Flow 40. She was also the Tremaine Studio Dancer of the Year in 2009. Amelia is the director of the annual summer Musical Theater Camp, and she has assisted in various dance camps for the past eight years. Amelia has assisted with dance classes for eight years, and is currently in her fourth year teaching tap, jazz, and musical theatre Company classes. She is also the Director of the Performance Company. Over the past few years, many of her dances won achievement and high point awards at regional dance competitions. Amelia graduated from Georgia Tech in Civil Engineering.
Kayla started at Becky Jones School of Dance when she was two years old by taking gymnastics. She has been dancing at the studio for over 15 years and had participated in Company for 11 years. This will be her fourth year of teaching dance classes. In 2005, she was able to perform with the studio at Epcot in Orlando. In addition, she has attended dance intensives, such as iHollywood and Flow 40. She is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, musical theatre, contemporary, and lyrical. In 2014 Kayla graduated with honors from Lassiter High School. She is now attending college at Kennesaw State University.
Performance Company Instructor:
Brandy graduated from The University of Georgia with a B.S. in Dance Education. She has been teaching for over 25 years around the Atlanta area specializing in ballet and contemporary. She has owned her own studio, as well as judging for the Governor’s Honor program for dance in 2010. She also received her certificate from Royal Academy of Dance for the primary levels in ballet. She actually began her studies as young girl at Becky Jones School of Dance and then went on to attain her degree and study from such teachers as Bala Sarasvati, Virginia Carver, Joan Buttram, Ruth Mitchell and Zanne Colton. Dancing with Core Concert Dance Co. and attending summer programs at University of Utah with the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Co. She is looking forward to another great year at BJSD.
Performance Company Instructor:
A native of Marietta, GA, Kyndal has been a dancer since the age of 5. She grew up dancing as a company member at Dancentre South in Woodstock, GA. After high school, Kyndal moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy to study Dance Performance and Musical Theater. She has danced professionally all over the country, with her favorite shows including Chicago and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in Hilton Head, SC, 42nd Street in New Jersey, and dancing as a Showgirl in the legendary Las Vegas show, Jubilee!, under the direction of Beyonce's choreographer, Frank Gatson Jr. Kyndal has traveled the Northeast as a judge for the Power of Dance Competition, danced at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore, worked for the Walt Disney Company in Florida as a Children's Activities Hostess, and is now a Barre Instructor at Pure Barre West Cobb. She is beyond thrilled to join the team at BJSD and is thankful for the opportunity to continue to share her love of dance.
Performance Company Instructor:
Logan started dancing at Becky Jones School of Dance when she was eight years old. She joined the Becky Jones Dance Performance Company when she was 9 years old. She has been trained in tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary,lyrical, and musical theatre. In 2015, she graduated with honors from the International Baccalaureate program at Campbell High School. Throughout her dance career at Becky's she had the opportunity to perform at Disney World in 2008, the Smyrna Jonquil Festival in the fall and spring every year, and a variety of competitions. She currently attends Kennesaw State University.
Originally a ambitious basketball player, Matt, decided to pursue dance back in, 2012, by audition for a local dance crew. Shortly afterwards, the crew dismembered to pursue a singing career. After already making the decision to drop everything to dance, he made the decision to pursue a career of his own. Matt, has been in 3 movies; his most recent being, Alvin and the Chipmunks. Dances for the talented Jacob Latimore. And of course travels the world as a member of, America's Got Talent’s season six finalists, iLuminate, and is now performing in their amazing Off Broadway show. Matt’s appreciation for the art of dance and love of music, inspires him to continuously create, expand and grow. Matt has been apart of the Becky Jones team for three years.
